Submissions for Conference Goals and Objectives


Accepted conference submissions become the basis of the program and learning activities to assist participants in achieving these purposes and Conference Goals:

  • Sharing current information, research or best practices, applicable to both US and Russian nursing practice, education and health care delivery
  • Increasing professional understanding between Russia and US nurses as to history, culture, education, and healthcare delivery
  • Providing participants an opportunity to do a presentation or lead a discussion session
  • Achieve the US-Russian Nursing Conference Cruise goals of encouraging
    learning about Russian cultures and perspectives on nursing and health care delivery
  • Building collegial relationship and friendships between US and Russian nurses
  • Fostering intercultural professional understanding
  • Creating the basis for post conference exchanges and collaborations

2009 Conference Objectives: Specific Objectives for the 2009 Conference are to:

  • Share approaches and projects focused on promoting care outcomes beneficial to patients and their families
  • Increase understanding about nursing research findings, research methodologies and evidence-based practice
  • Explore nursing roles and practice issues and concerns
  • Examine nursing curriculums, teaching/learning strategies and methods in cross-cultural situations
  • Design networking approaches to promote the global nursing community
